As a member of Rotary International, Windsor Rotary Club actively supports the efforts to rid the world of polio.  Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 3 decades. Rotary International is a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.  Since 1979, polio cases have been reduced by 99.9 percent.

Over $2.1 billion have been spent to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries. Over $10 billion have been spent by countries as the result of the influence of Rotary.

The work to prevent polio is ongoing and challenging.  Although the disease is endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan, if vaccination efforts stopped today, over 200,000 children per year could be paralyzed.
