RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is a life-changing leadership training program for young men and women where leadership skills and principles are learned, developed and enhanced in an atmosphere of trust and respect. The purpose of RYLA is to encourage and assist current and potential youth leaders in methods of responsible and effective leadership. The Senior RYLA is held at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado, and Young RYLA Conference is held at the Pondorosa Retreat & Conference Center in Larkspur, CO.
The golf tournament is in memory of Ardin Wright, he was an exceptional individual that has left a positive lasting impression on our community as well as our youth. He was a long-standing Rotary member, two time President of the Windsor club, as well as Assistant Governor for Dist 5440 spearheading several international initiatives. He was an awesome Rotarian, with a passion for many Rotary initiatives just some of them including, Paul Harris Fellowships, year-long student exchange program and of course RYLA. He also lead Aero Dentista, an orginazation that flew dentists to Baja California to to serve the poor. As a patriot, he served his country with the Air Force reserves. He was a humble man of great wisdom and humor who managed to stay a child at heart.
